In the Show Ring
At Thistle Hill, showing is one way we continue to learn, evaluate, and grow. While our dogs are companions first and foremost, the conformation ring offers valuable insight into structure, movement, and breed type through the perspective of independent judges.
Why we Show
We do not show for ribbons alone. We show to better understand our dogs and to hold ourselves accountable to the Siberian Husky breed standard. Time in the ring allows us to assess strengths, identify areas for improvement, and make thoughtful decisions about the future of our program.
Showing is one of many tools we use. It complements health testing, temperament evaluation, and day to day life with our dogs, helping us build a well rounded picture of each individual.
Companions First
Not every great Husky belongs in or enjoys the show ring, and showing is never an expectation for our puppy families. Our dogs are raised to be loved, lived with, and fully integrated into family life. Titles are not required for a dog to be exceptional.
For those who are curious about showing, it can be a rewarding and educational experience. We are always happy to support families who are interested in learning more, but we place show prospects thoughtfully and sparingly. Even in carefully planned litters, only a small number of puppies possess the structure, temperament, and presence needed to thrive in the ring.
