About Thistle Hill
A small, purpose-driven Siberian Husky program
Program Overview
Every breeding program reflects the priorities behind it.

At Thistle Hill, our goal is to preserve and produce Siberian Huskies that are structurally sound, temperamentally stable, and capable of thriving both as companions and as working dogs.

Our program is intentionally small so each dog can be raised, evaluated, and cared for with individual attention. Breeding decisions are made with a long-term perspective, guided by health testing, careful study of bloodlines, and ongoing evaluation of the dogs themselves.
Program Standards
Thistle Hill operates with a set of clear standards that guide every decision in the program:
-
Comprehensive health testing in accordance with breed-appropriate guidelines
-
Limited, carefully planned breedings
-
Independent evaluation through conformation and performance venues
-
Temperament-first puppy placement
-
Transparency with families and the breed community
-
Lifetime responsibility for every dog produced through our program
These principles shape everything from breeding decisions to how puppies are raised and placed.
Accountability & Evaluation
Dogs in our program are evaluated through recognized venues such as conformation showing. These venues provide independent assessment against the written Siberian Husky breed standard.

Showing is not pursued solely for titles. It serves as a form of accountability and an opportunity to evaluate structure, movement, and overall breed type under the eyes of experienced judges.

Combined with health testing and long-term observation, this evaluation helps guide both breeding decisions and thoughtful puppy placement.
Program Scope
Thistle Hill is not designed to be a high-volume kennel.

We are a small, home-based breeding program built around careful stewardship of the breed and long-term responsibility for the dogs we produce.

Maintaining a limited number of dogs allows for close observation of development, hands-on raising of puppies, and continued relationships with the families who welcome them into their homes.

Our focus remains on consistency, transparency, and responsible stewardship of the breed.
