Getting a Puppy from Thistle Hill

How our placement process works

How Often we Breed

Thistle Hill produces a limited number of litters each year.

Each breeding is carefully planned with the goal of preserving correct breed type, sound structure, and stable temperament. We do not breed to meet demand or maintain a set schedule.

Litters occur only when the timing, health clearances, and long-term goals of the program align.

Placement Philosophy

Puppies are placed based on temperament, structure, and overall compatibility with the home they will join.

While families are welcome to share preferences, final placement decisions are made by Thistle Hill to ensure the best long-term match for both puppy and household.

Our goal is not simply to place puppies quickly, but to ensure each one grows up in the environment where it is most likely to thrive.

The Process

1. Application

Families begin by submitting an application. This helps us understand your household, experience with dogs, and what you’re hoping for in a Siberian Husky.

2. Conversation

After reviewing applications, we schedule a phone or video conversation to discuss expectations, answer questions, and determine whether the program is a good fit.

3. Litter Updates

Once a litter is confirmed, families receive regular updates as puppies grow and develop.

4. Matching

As personalities begin to emerge, puppies are evaluated for temperament, confidence, and adaptability. These observations help guide placement decisions.

5. Go-Home

Puppies go home at the appropriate age (typically 9 weeks or later) with health documentation and transition support.

What Comes With Each Puppy

Every Thistle Hill puppy goes home with:

  • Limited AKC registration (included)

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations and veterinary examination

  • Microchip identification

  • Health records and documentation

  • Puppy starter pack

  • Transition guidance and breeder support

Pricing

Pricing reflects the cost of responsible breeding, comprehensive health testing, early development, and ongoing breeder support.

Current puppy placements typically range between $2400–$4400, depending on the breeding and individual circumstances.

Specific details are discussed during the application and placement process.

Logistics

Whenever possible, puppies are picked up in person so families can meet the puppy and review important transition information.

In some cases, transportation may be arranged at the buyer’s expense. Options are discussed individually once placement is confirmed.

Apply For a Thistle Hill Puppy

Families interested in welcoming a Thistle Hill puppy into their home begin by completing our application.

The application helps us learn more about your household, experience with dogs, and what you’re hoping for in a Siberian Husky. This information allows us to start a thoughtful conversation about whether our program and your expectations are a good fit.

Because our litters are limited and placements are based on temperament and lifestyle compatibility, submitting an application does not guarantee a puppy. Instead, it is the first step in getting to know one another and determining whether a future placement may be possible.

If no puppies are currently available, qualified applicants may be placed on our waitlist and notified when future litters are planned.
