Getting a Puppy from Thistle Hill
Every Thistle Hill puppy is bred for structure, temperament, and a lifetime of partnership.

Thistle Hill Siberians are bred to the AKC standard, evaluated in the conformation ring, and placed with the same care that goes into producing them. These are working-type dogs with stable, adaptable temperaments, raised in a home environment from birth. Families who come to Thistle Hill don't just get a puppy. They get a family member that was raised with intention from a breeder who will still answer the phone years later.
How Often we Breed
Every breeding at Thistle Hill starts with the same standard: does this pairing move the breed forward? Litters happen when the timing, health clearances, and long-term goals align, not on a set schedule and not to meet demand. Typically one to two litters a year, sometimes fewer.
Placement Philosophy
Puppies are placed based on temperament, structure, and overall compatibility with the home they will join. Families share preferences and Thistle Hill makes the match once personalities develop, with the goal of finding the environment where each puppy is most likely to thrive. Color, markings, and gender are noted but do not drive placement decisions.
The Process
1. Application
Families begin by submitting an application. This helps us understand your household, experience with dogs, and what you’re hoping for in a Siberian Husky.
2. Conversation
After reviewing your application, we schedule a phone or video call. This is the most important step in the process. It's where we get a real sense of your household, your expectations, and whether a puppy from us is genuinely the right fit.
3. Litter Updates
Approved families hear first when a litter is planned. Once a litter is confirmed, regular updates follow as puppies grow, including photos, personality observations, and developmental milestones.
4. Matching
As personalities begin to emerge, puppies are evaluated for temperament, confidence, and adaptability. These observations help guide placement decisions.
5. Go-Home
Puppies go home at nine weeks or later with full health documentation, a care binder, and a curated puppy starter pack. Transition support and ongoing breeder contact continue well beyond go-home day.
